Trauma is the response to a deeply distressing or disturbing event that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope, causes feelings of helplessness, diminishes their sense of self and their ability to feel a full range of emotions and experiences.

3.

Children & Youth

Therapy can be a safe space for kids to process thoughts and emotions.

4.

Couples

Relationship counseling is a type of talk therapy that lets both parties in a relationship talk about their problems and feelings in a safe and private environment.

My Approach

I am down-to-earth and like to give you an opportunity to get to know me and feel at ease during sessions. I give you my full attention and active listening skills, focusing on your unique perspectives and experiences without making assumptions or judgements.  Once we discuss together and determine what goals you would like to achieve in therapy, we choose the best approach.

About Me

Before I became a counselor, I attended Penn State and worked in the steel mills of Western PA on summer breaks.  When my parents divorced, I dropped out of school and joined the military.  I served for four years in the US Navy as a Chinese Linguist assigned to the National Security Agency. After that, I programmed computers for John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab.  My work history also includes providing administrative assistance in differing marketplaces and educational institutions. While completing ministry school in Charlotte, NC, I was a singles and evangelism pastor for a short time.

Artizo means:

kata (an intensive) artizo is a Greek word meaning: "to adjust, adapt, dispose of, often with great wisdom and propriety; to fit; to perfect, finish, complete; to instruct fully: to refit, repair, mend, applied to nets that have been broken; to reunite in mind and sentiment, reconcile, as opposed to having schisms, ruptures; to re-set, restore, as a disjointed limb; to set up, arrange, prepare, equip." Hebrews 10:5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world , he said: " Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me....Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.

Artizo Ministries was created fully depending on the Holy Spirit to achieve the results encompassed by this weighty word.

The Vision...

The vision statement of Artizo Ministries is to relieve the suffering of individuals from the effects of simple and complex trauma by incorporating holistic healing practices.  Many victims of trauma have been underserved and have not experienced the benefits of specialized trauma treatment for three reasons:  Insurance plans rarely cover what are termed “adjunct services” even though these services are highly effective; evidence based practices that have proven to be effective are too expensive without insurance coverage; and lastly, practitioner trainings for these trauma specific evidence based practices are costly and require time-off. To address this problem, we are integrating therapies with proven track records and intend to offer them at no cost to those who cannot pay for these vital services. Our planned activities, Art Program, Movement Program, Education Program, Counseling Program, Community Engagement and musical production of the PromiseKeeper, will be accessible through donations and fundraising events.  Our mission is also to provide our counselors with the best available trainings of proven outcomes based trauma interventions. Artizo Ministries is a 501 (3) (c) Charity and any donation you make is tax deductible. When making a donation, you can include a comment on where you would like your funds allocated.
